Lunch: Run – PENDING
I’m wishing all the Boston runners positive and well wishes, especially to my dear friend (and OB/GYN), Vivian. Last year was supposed to be her last marathon (at the Boston Marathon) but she was fortunate to be able to come back today and run it strong (though I have a feeling she will still run future marathons, she always says that it will be her last).
Anyway, the weekend was extremely busy with Easter on the way. I pretty much felt like on vacation mode Thursday morning. I didn’t think I’d be able to get to lunch, but I managed to figure things out and even had last minute lunch plans with Cici.
She scooped me up and we met at the Millburn Diner. I was happy. I had brunch — bc who doesn’t get breakfast at the diner?!?
It was packed with so many people — people that work in my building. I think they all walk there too.
Anyway, I can’t even remember what happened Thursday night, but I did lay out clothes for Friday morning as I wanted to get my LR in.
Friday: Pedro had the day off!!! I woke up early and ran 10-miles. I knew we’d have a busy day. When I was done, I made breakfast, fed the kids and then put them down for a nap. P and I needed to go to the mall. I straightened up a bit and then my brother’s girlfriend stopped by to drop off balloons and a cake. We were having a late, mini-surprise (though turned out he wasn’t surprised) birthday dinner for my brother. Things were so chaotic the last few weeks, we never did have a chance to celebrate. We got to the mall at about 2:30 and it did not take us long to do the actually shopping, so we were able to walk around and Lili even got to ride the carousel and play in their “free” indoor playground.
Sebastian did try to nap but didn’t take a long one. He was content for the most part.
The playground was packed with hyper kids… We stayed maybe a half hour tops. I couldn't take it with the screaming kids — it was a mad house.
Post-mall, we got home and relaxed a bit before my brother and his gf came by. I ordered food (bc there was no way I was going to cook) and it was delivered right before they arrived. We had so much fun.
He’s so young — makes me feel old. But we are 9 1/2 years apart.
We ended up getting him a crock pot. A few months ago we were talking about how much I like it — though P isn’t a big fan. My brother was interested in buying one and so I got him a small one to start with, especially since he’s living at home still and, well you know… not really his kitchen, so a small one is convenient and doesn’t take up too much space.
Anyhow, they both left after I gave both Lili and Sebastian a bath. It was a great night.
Saturday: We slept in for once… It was 8 when we all peeled out of bed (excluding P). When we woke up, I fed the kids and even prepared croquettes (or the first part of croquettes). After, I got the kids ready and we headed over to Mothergoose at the library. We made it just in time and it was a gorgeous day.
After an hour and a half, we stopped to pick up food for lunch — The Nets were playing Playoff Game Numero Uno. Lili was crying for a nap at this point, so as soon as we got home, it was nap time for her. When she woke up from her nap, we played with her toys and then P was about to get on the treadmill when I had to STOP him. I hated to do that when he was so motivated, but we needed to get our egg hunt together, and YES, it took us over 2 hours.
We took actual pictures of the rooms at my in-laws house and used egg stickers where we placed her eggs. It was too cute and perfect for her. She was so excited to run around looking for eggs.
SUNDAY, HAPPY EASTER: The kids woke up at weird times, but only for a short period. I did weights and abs at 5AM and then by 6:15, Sebastian was crying so I went into the room to feed him and fell right back to sleep. They woke up again at 7:30, so I got them up and dressed for church. I showered and got ready and then woke P up. We got to 10:30 mass just in time.
And then we headed over to my in-laws house for Easter Brunch.
After Easter brunch and dessert, we started Lili’s egg hunt. I had to finish up one more clue and then Sab and Jules started their egg hunt.
This year we incorporated some “educational” clues. One clue was all in Spanish and hidden in the Spanish dictionary. Then there was another clue that was a math problem. The answer came out to 60.94 cm and basically if you google that it’s 2 ft. So that clue was hidden in a shoe. I can’t take credit for that clue — that was all P. 🙂 Though clue 10 on instagram was all ME. HA.
Their prize was a game for Jules and a coach purse for Sabrina. I’m glad they both enjoyed the game. It’s always fun. We hung around for a bit afterwards. Lili enjoyed some time outside.
She threw a mini-fit before leaving but I knew it was nap time too. So we headed home and she napped from 2:30-4:30. We had to leave for my parents house and do this all over again.
It was colder by the time we got there. So we started the hunt right away.
We were home close to 7 and I finally finished preparing the croquettes and cooking a few for dinner. P had a leftover burrito and I made Lili some noodles.
I was a little disappointed bc my croquettes tasted a tad bland. Ugh. OH well. I guess better than too salty, right?
I know, my Mondays are filled with pictures. I can’t help it.
Do you have Mimosa at brunch? Did you celebrate Easter? Did you overeat? I ate so much chocolate, I’m so glad it’s out of the house now. 😛
Anybody streaming the Boston Marathon from work?
How many miles are you running for Boston? I haven’t decided yet — If I take the later lunch, maybe I will run longer… Who knows. I’m a little tired though so we’ll see.
