1:00 PM: 3-Mile Run – COMPLETED
I love DLS. Even if we do lose and hour of sleep and the kids are all messed up with the time difference (and to them, it makes a HUGE difference), I love it. I love that it’s light out after 7pm. I love that most of the snow has melted and I can see the green grass. Today it will be close to the 50s and tomorrow almost 60s. Unfortunately, it gets down to 25 with some snow on Thursday?!? Go figure…
We had mostly beautiful weather this past weekend. Unfortunately, Lili was sick most of that weekend. Also Sebastian was congested. So that meant staying in. I was bummed because I know how much Lili loves being outdoors and I wanted to take Sebastian for a stroll. So I tried to make it worthwhile. On Friday, we stayed in making birdhouses.
The activity took a pretty long time and we had so much fun doing this together. Sebastian just lounged around most of the morning/afternoon.
Nap-time was apparently vetoed by both kids which left a busy day/night for me. Add two sick kids with that and it’s a recipe for disaster. When P got home, we had a light dinner — I was not in the mood to cook — and then I got the kids ready for bed. I knew they were tired and Lili was not well. P ended up leaving us around 8 to meet his brother and I was able to get some downtime to myself until he arrived home after 10:30.
Saturday, I woke up with both kids and made pancakes for breakfast. Lili was still a bit off. She was still congested. So we sat and played blocks and colored.
I hadn’t heard from Tamar so I wasn’t sure whether we’d be running. I put the kids down to nap around 11 and we finally touched based. I kept going back and forth on when we’d run and finally sucked it up and told her to meet by 12. It was BEAUTIFUL out. I left Lili to nap and Sebastian was fighting it. I had to finally just give the baby to P and run out.
We both had tanks on — that’s how nice it was on Saturday. I even wore shorts.
Ahhh, spring is in the air. Just not sure how long it will last… Post run, I got home and Lili was AWAKE, which meant she didn’t take a very long nap. I showered quickly and then held the baby so he could nap. We’re still having a hard time with his naps and he needs it like you wouldn’t believe.
Poor kid is so tired but needs to be held. As much as I need to get things done, I’ve accepted it because you know once he’s old enough, he won’t want mommy to hold him. So I am embracing his needs as my much as I can.
Anyhow, Pedro had plans to go out with his friends, so I started dinner early for Lili and me. I hadn’t made arroz con pollo in so long.
It was delicious. After dinner, I gave the baby a bath and Lili skipped hers because she was super congested and still not 100%. Poor kid. I did tell her that we were having a girls’ night in as soon as the baby went down and she was ecstatic.
I made us popcorn and we watched a movie.
We had so much fun. We laid in bed together and snuggled. Pedro got home earlier than he expected, but Lili and I were asleep. The baby woke up at some point and P brought him over to me. Poor P had to sleep on the twin. HA.
DLS meant being lazy. I made all of us a huge breakfast at 11. It consisted of pancakes, sausages, turkey bacon and coffee. I was out of it so P did wash the dishes and start the laundry while I tried to put kids down for a nap. I was so exhausted that I didn’t even do the food shopping. I think I have enough FOOD in the freezer to defrost and cook up for the week. My mini-goal is to not food shop until Friday. Let’s hope that works out.
Kids went down after 9. I folded three loads that P brought up. There’s still one in the dryer and two more loads that need to be washed. Then I looked over the training log for the week.
Last week’s schedule was off — but I’m at least happy to have gotten a long run in. I then looked over this coming week’s schedule.
I’ve checked the weather for the week and it looks like I’ll run today and tomorrow — possibly Wednesday — but looking over the weather, I’m not sure now. It looks like it’s supposed to rain?!? And Thursday… like I mentioned earlier, snow?!? We’ll see… I did, however, underestimate how cool it was today and wish I wore at least a hat — I just ran faster so that I got hotter.
Wish I could always just run fast — What helped me? I was looking forward to my lunch.
My favorite salad from this restaurant we order from. I was looking forward to this salad since last week when we were originally supposed to order from here but then someone changed their mind. I am tearing it up right now. Mmmmmm…
Do you look at the weather in advanced to schedule your runs in?
How do you log in your runs? Computerized or still old-fashioned notebooks/training books? I’m pretty old-fashioned and like to write things down. I type them up the training logs on excel put still print out and like to write notes.
If you log in computerized, what website do you use?
