8:15 AM: 4.25-Mile Run (1-mile warm-up; 5×400; 1-mile cool down) – COMPLETED

On Monday night, we had dinner at my in-laws.  I mentioned on that post that I prepped dinner the night before.  It came out delicious.

I helped myself to seconds.  While I was there, I got the message from my mom that they wouldn’t be able to take the baby yesterday — I wasn’t prepared but knew that there might be a day this week that I’d have to take him to work.  Fortunately, the big boss isn’t in so I knew I’d be able to take him in without any problems.  I hate to use a day off when we’ve (1) had so many snow days and (2) I’ll need to take a few days in March.  My mom leaves for the motherland this Sunday and honestly, the baby is a bit too much to handle for them four days in a row.  So, we woke up bright and early and I prepared everything to take the office — I tried my best to go “light” because I didn’t want to carry too many things.  One thing I definitely took was his rocker. It helped out at times.  And the baby bjorn — which wasn’t really helpful.  One thing I was thrilled about was that I wouldn’t have to PUMP!!!! And of course, I got to see this handsome face all day long.

He was such a pleasure.  I was able to do some light work while feeding him.

I brought my nursing coverup — He was so wonderful.  He even helped me work.

And then I tried to put him down for a nap in the back while I worked out — I did lots of lower body — OUCH. My thighs and glutes are SORE today.

He was so cute.  While I did leg workouts, he was in this zone watching my legs go UP and DOWN.  I think he’s going to be just like his big sis and will enjoy working out.  I eventually got him down for a real nap.

And I quickly got some work done because I knew it would be short-lived.  We went to the bathroom together.

And had lots of hugs and kisses…

It was a wonderful day with my man.  In fact, it was the first time ever that I spent time just with him and not with Lili too, since he was born in the hospital.  I am selfish with my babies and love spending every minute with both of them, but I really did enjoy him yesterday.  I love both my babies.

My boss told me I could leave an hour early, but I stuck it out and hung out.  I may need to leave early a few times next week so I don’t like to take advantage.  I did, however, come in an hour late this morning.  I really am grateful for my job.  Do I love what I do? It’s okay, but right now, with little ones, it’s flexible and they know me and are very understanding.  It’s the job you need when you have kids.   Anyhow, it worked out perfect though — I was able to get a nice, hot shower post speed workout.

The schedule called for 5×400 — It went well for the first time.

1-mile warm-up

1×400 @ 7:30 min/mi

1×400 @7:19 min/mi

1×400 @ 7:19 min/mi

1×400 @ 7:00 min/mi

1×400 @ 7:00 min/mi

1-mile cool-down

Between intervals, I did a recovery run @ 10:00 min/mi.  Here’s a cheat sheet for treadmill speed workouts.

I’m happy with the way it went considering my legs felt heavy with yesterday’s lunges/squats/butt workout.

Oh, last night we had the pork in the slow cooker. It came out okay — I think I cooked it a little too long.

And a 24-week update.  I have to be honest with you — my diet hasn’t been great.  I just love my sweets and carbs and food…

I need to get on my brother’s outline plan that he designed for me.   Tomorrow… LOL

What do you do for a living? Do you love your job? What is your dream job?

Ideally, I would love to be a stay-at-home-mom. I say this often.  Dream job? My own business. Maybe something with crafts? Fashion?

I guess that’s why it’s called a “dream” job.  Though I should and could work on starting my own business.  That’s not really unrealistic.

Happy Wednesday.

  1. I love your posts.

That is amazing that you have such flexibility with your job.
And you’re looking GREAT, just 24-weeks post baby. You’re always an inspiration to me. 🙂

As for your question… I’ve never even thought about my dream job, or at least not for the past few years. But my new job is going well; I’m treated well and my boss thinks I’m doing good work. Yay! It’s been a long time since I’ve been treated like a good worker (which I am). Actually, I got a small bonus, coming on Friday’s check. Yay for me!

    Miss you.

    • Thank you my sweets. I love seeing all your pics. You look so incredibly happy!!! And I’m so happy that your job is going well. And hooray on the small bonus. What do you think you’re going to buy??? What’s your next vacation? I have to vicariously live through you. I think I’ll be trying to do my vacations where I could race to save some type of money. MISS YOU LOTS!!! XOXOXOXO

PS I am thinking 2016-2017 for the Dopey Challenge in Disney. You in???

  2. You’re one speedy mama! I can relate with taking a baby to work; I haven’t done it with Shelbs, but used to bring Brax in 1x/week for the first 6 month’s or so…it was not as easy as I would have hoped, but we made it work:-)

    • WOW!!! 1x a week with Brax??? I can’t imagine. I was lucky Sebastian was good (for the most part) but he did want to be held. Did you have that problem with Brax? Did he want to be held a lot? I’m hoping it’s just a phase. He hardly naps during the day — unless you’re sleeping with him. The CIO with him during naps does NOT work unfortunately. We do let him cry from time to time though. Not too bad. Hope you’re doing well!!!
