Family Fun

7:30 AM: Chalean Extreme Push Circuit 1 – COMPLETED

Where do the weekends go?!? I’ll tell you one thing, they go by fast for sure. We had some what of a lazy yet productive weekend. It’s all about balancing. On Friday, I got out at 4 (an hour early). It was a VERY annoying Friday with a lot of stress. Thank God it was over. I did my food shopping online and then picked up Lili. I did cook dinner while P got on the treadmill. So glad he got on. He was feeling crappy from not eating too well the last two days. At least he’s trying. While I was cooking, someone was trying on my new track shoes.

We broke bread and then called it a night. I did clean up and I fiddled a bit with my iPad. It’s so nice. I mean, SO much better than the first iPad we got three years ago (the first generation that has no camera). Love it. I finally passed out for the night.

Saturday, we (well, Lili and I) woke up and made some pancakes. YUM. Then we played for a bit and finally she wanted to take a nap. When she woke up, we all got ready to go to the Sneaker Factory.

Pedro needed new shoes for when he does his walk/run. I’m not sure what he was even using — probably his regular sneakers that he goes out in. No bueno. So he tried on a few, and I forgot to take a picture of it but I think this is the one he picked out.

Let's RUN.

Let’s RUN.

He likes them and they were SO needed. We were all excited until I tried to pay for them and my bank card was declined. Basically, it turns out that it was deactivated because the last purchase I made, the place had a bunch of fraudulent activity going on and whoever used their card at this place had their accounts deactivated! We paid another way and then headed off to eat. We ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant and thankfully Lili was well-behaved. We stopped at Best Buy after just to look around and then found a TV we liked so we said we’d do a bit of research before purchasing it.

The rest of the evening was low-key — since we got home late. The usual routine: bath, books, bed time, hang out, sleep.

Sunday, Lili and I had pancakes again AND finally decided to go out for a run.

Have a Nike Day!

She watched some Elmo while I pushed. The first 2-miles were good and we entered the park. I decided that since it was still early, she had time to play. So we stopped at the playground.

Watch me SLIDE.

Watch me SLIDE.

I’m so happy she’s not afraid of slides anymore. Thank goodness for the slide we bought.

Did I mention how it may have been a mistake stopping at the park. The kid did not want to go home. She wanted to stay in the swing. Only way she got off was when she saw a dog and said, “woof, woof!” and wanted to pet the dog. So we got off and then she pet the pup and then wanted more slides. By that time, she was ready. So we ran back home 2-miles and went inside.

I showered, put her down for a nap and then Pedro and I bought a TV online. He got ready to work on the yard and Lili was just waking up. So Lili and I stopped by the supermarket and went food shopping. When we got home, we unloaded everything and then we prepped food for dinner and the week. I baked turkey cutlets for Pedro’s sandwiches and put some chicken in the slow-cooker. I cleaned up a bit, put a load of laundry in, folded a load and then we brought Pedro some water. He was about to finish up (after 3.5 hours of working in the heat) and Lili and I decided to paint.

Finger Painting

Finger Painting

We weren’t thrilled with the paint recipe last weekend so I found another one. This one was MUCH better and less watery. We didn’t use cornstarch this time.

Paint Recipe:

2 cups of water
2 cups of white flour
Food coloring

Pour 2 cups of water into a deep shallow bowl. Slowly add flour and stir. Keep on stirring and adding the flour little by little. Then pour some of the mix into little jars and add food coloring.

You can save for later use. It’s perfect and fun. I checked on the painting after — it’s for Father’s Day. And I absolutely love how it’s looking.

I think it’s the perfect gift for Pedro’s dad because he paints and I mean, look at how great it came out. We got this from Pinterest. All you have to do it put tape of the name you want (or image or whatever it is) and paint over it. Then when it’s dried, peel it off and there you have it. A masterpiece.

When we were finishing up, Pedro was in the shower so we cleaned up and headed out to pick up our new TV. 🙂 When we got home, he was setting things up and I was HUNGRY. So Lili and I ate dinner.

I tried a new recipe called Beer Crockpot Chicken.

Pedro ended up liking it. I ended up using his favorite beer, Heinken. Maybe that’s why? It was pretty easy.

Post-dinner, we cleaned up, gave Lili a bath, read her some books and put her down. The usual. I ended up passing out too.

This morning was just one of those, “I just want to curl up in bed and under the covers” kind of day. Oh well. I did manage to prepare P’s breakfast, pack up his lunch and snacks, prepare dinner (meatloaf in the crockpot), workout, feed Lili, change her and shower. I was 20 minutes late to work as I had to go to my bank and settle this matter with my account.

Have you ever had fraudulent activity occur with your bank account?

What’s your favorite crockpot recipe?

Happy Monday!!!!

  1. I love Lili’s shirts in those pics, they are TUTU cute! 🙂 That painting idea is genius. I love crockpot recipes in the fall but I’ve seen lots of recipes lately on Pinterest to try…I will have to bust out here sometime soon!

    • They have the cutest clothes for kids. Too bad they grow out of them so quickly though… 😦

You gotta LOVE Pinterest for their fantastic ideas!!!! Recipes, crafts, clothes, etc., etc., etc. It’s both incredible yet dangerous. HAHA

  2. I don’t blame Lili for not wanting to get out of the swing! That’s all I wanted to do when I was a kid. I would swing for hours. Loved it!! (still do, but don’t have a swing!)
