The Best First Mother’s Day Ever

9:00 AM: 4-Mile Run – COMPLETED

I’ve been M.I.A. the last few days as it’s been one crazy weekend. I don’t think the weekends will slow down until the second week of July or so. We have non-stop events for the next 7-weekends straight. Sheesh. Lots to catch up on, but I’ll have to fill you in on that during the week. I’m still sick — even went to the doctor’s on Friday last minute. Unfortunately, he prescribed me pretty much NOTHING and I’m disappointed. I have some “viral bronchitis” crap and I seriously need to take something. I vomited twice yesterday and once today. I had to cut my 12-mile run down to 4-miles today. I’m hardly getting any type of sleep and my mom thinks I’m too skinny. I’m pretty sure I lost weight just from being sick. I’m weak and getting a bit apprehensive over this marathon in TWO weeks. Hopefully the lack of runs won’t affect me in any way. I mean, we are tapering.

Anyway, I didn’t let my sickness get in the way of my first Mother’s Day. I had an incredible day from the very start.

I pretty much cried reading the Mother’s Day card. It was perfect.

We were having brunch with my family at 11, so I was able to get a 4-mile run in. Then we quickly got ready and headed over to the restaurant.

It was a great brunch and the food was delicious.

We had some time to kill after the brunch and Pedro’s best friend, Marian called to wish me a Happy Mama’s Day. She was on her way back to the city, but I told her to swing by.

It was great catching up with her. She stayed while Lili and I took a nap. Pedro and her had some one-on-one time. It was much needed.

We headed over to Mother’s Day dinner with P’s family. It was great. A nice day for a BBQ. They had the pool opened too but we didn’t go swimming since I’m still sick.

It really was the perfect Mother’s Day I could ever ask for; sick or not sick… I mean, I know I could have at least enjoyed the food more, but that’s okay. I got to spend it with family and that’s the best feeling ever.

Hope everyone had a fantastic day. I’m not looking forward to going back to work on Monday. I need a 3-day weekend every week.

  1. Seriously, that has to be the sweetest mommy’s day card ever! How SWEET of Pedro to do that! And he included so much…it shows how much he really sees and that he really knows what an awesome mom you are and how much you love Lili. And the locket….beautiful! LOVE IT!

I’m so happy you had such a lovely day full of presents, family, and Lili-time. You look positively gorgeous in every photo! You are not too skinny–you are hot, hot, hot!!! I am just sorry you felt so awful the entire time.

Thanks for sharing all of these photos! Wonderful, wonderful!

XOXO and lots of kisses to Lili! Tell Pedro he did an awesome job for your first Mother’s Day!!!

  2. Thanks so much Allie! It was definitely a very memorable event. I’m putting that card in Lili’s book. He’ll have to think of something even better next year — if that’s at all possible. Of course, me and my big mouth, I told him I had a great Father’s Day gift for him so he better be on point with his gifts — DOH. I just screwed myself, didn’t I? HA.

It was such a crazy day yesterday — but I had a great time. Thank you for the compliments and of course, the reason for the compliments — “the dress”. HA. ;o)

BTW, I am still waiting for pics of your sister’s wedding. No rush, but can’t wait to see them.

    XOX

  3. I will share the pics of Lauren’s wedding the second I get them. She still hasn’t sent them to me! Of course, they just got back from their honeymoon on Saturday. LOL
